Ash James’ photography documenting the spaces features stripped back interior shots inspired by a love of clean lines and architectural space, and the stunning natural settings in which the hotels are located, from the Namibian desert to the Cambodian rice paddies.
A study of several Zannier Hotels, this book captures the earthy tones and raw natural environment that encompasses the Omaanda Lodge, in the middle of the Namibian desert; the sights and sounds of the rice paddy fields leading to the Phum Baitang resort in Cambodia; and activates palettes ready to taste the diversity of world flavours in traditional kitchen settings – from Menorca’s Nonna Bazaar to the Bãi San HôN hà o resort’s Nhà o in Vietnam. Ash James captures the atmosphere with his clean photography featuring stripped back interior shots, earthy tones and raw natural environments; and intimate shots from inside the traditional kitchens.

A Map of the Shadow Self
In the minutes after the sun has set or just before it rises, the world seems to lose its dimension. Shadows disappear, and the sky takes on a blue heaviness that seems to flatten the landscape into a single, monochromatic plane. For Gabriel Isak, this blue hour can be understood as a visual synonym for almost a decade of his life.
