the Book

Photographer Matt Porter has a zeal for capturing natural moments and lifestyle compositions. In this newly updated version of The Weekender London, Volume 1, he turns his curious eye to his favorite parts of North and East London with an exposition of modern restaurants, cosy pubs, design shops and sprawling parkland interposed with famous landmarks in the center. One of the fastest moving cities in the world, London has a unique spirit and eclectic charm. Porter moves through the space conceptually, with a weekend trajectory that can be followed directly in his footsteps or visited at the reader’s own pace.

the Artist

Matt Porter is a freelance creative based in London. After the UK, the place where he has spent the most time is Scandinavia, with Stockholm his first port of call in the region. It captured his heart, being not quite like any other place in the world. It remains one of his most important inspirations, and has influenced a body of work including photography for leading design brands, creative direction and multiple features in travel books and lifestyle magazines. Matt likes to shoot natural moments, letting real lifestyles form themselves organically into his compositions. Color, form, and motion all arise from genuine moments, in an unstaged, sympathetic way.

Artist Review: Guillaume Sardin

Guillaume Sardin occupies an artistic space of wonder that is at once disciplined and childlike. A space where the warmth of a human hand overrides digital perfection, and the characteristic whimsy of his “narrative drawings” belie the deep skill that goes into the studied relaxedness of every line.
